Melissa Smith PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Melissa is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She received an Associates degree in nursing from Northwest Mississippi Community College in 2014. After graduation she began working in community mental health with individuals with severe mental illness. She then obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Mississippi University for Women in 2017 before earning a Master of Science in nursing from Northern Kentucky University in 2021.

Melissa has experience treating adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations in the outpatient psychiatric setting. She is passionate and dedicated to providing compassionate and evidence-based mental healthcare to individuals of all ages. She believes that mental health is very important and should be prioritized alongside one’s physical health.

Melissa is a life-long resident of Desoto County and she is looking forward to working with individuals in her community. She has been married to her husband for the past 20 years and they have a teenage daughter. In her free time she enjoys  painting, crocheting, and spending time outdoors with her family.
