Lauren Carter

PMHNP

Lauren Carter is a psychiatric nurse practitioner who has been in the nursing field since 2007, specializing in psychiatry since 2016. Lauren offers psychiatric services to children, adolescents, and adults in the state of Mississippi. Her services include assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management. She takes a holistic and person-centered approach to mental health care, focusing on the person and not the illness.

Lauren began her nursing education at Itawamba Community College, where she earned her associate’s degree in nursing. She completed her bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Mississippi Medical Center before transferring to the University of South Alabama to complete her master’s degree in advanced psychiatric mental health nursing. She is certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center and licensed by the Mississippi Board of Nursing.

Lauren was born in Tupelo, MS but raised in Houston, TX. She moved back to Tupelo in 2003 to be closer to family and eventually settled down to raise her own family. She enjoys reading, writing, listening to music, making art, and spending time with her family and their dogs.

She is passionate about providing compassionate, competent, evidence-based care to promote and restore mental and overall wellbeing.
